So after reading reviews I can suggest you read this with intent to be educated on this social crisis and not judge the author's tone, because you're entering the mind of this addicted personality. The writing is raw and humorous; the recount feels genuine and filled with honest details. The overall story structure is entertaining for a memoir, as most memoirs are either boring or ridiculous, with cut backs to different time periods and self-reflection. Impressive of the author to pose questions to his reader as to why he ended up in this situation: what can be done to avoid this for medical professionals, from a personal perspective & how can we prevent addiction in general, from a doctor's perspective.
